EGR 203 - Introduction to Materials Science Credit(s): 3 A study of the fundamental characteristics of engineering materials, including metals, ceramics, polymers, and composites. Topics will include: a thorough analysis of the response of crystalline materials to mechanical stress and thermal treatment, and the selection of materials for mechanical properties. Specific emphasis will be given to understanding the relationship between microstructure and mechanical behavior of materials.
Prerequisite(s): CHM 101 or CHM 113 or CHM 121
