MUS 209(C) - Music Theory IV Credit(s): 3 MassTransfer Block Code: Humanities/Fine and Performing Arts A study of the theoretical principles, formal designs, and stylistic tendencies associated with the Western music from the 18th century to present. The course emphasizes music analysis, written exercises using computer notation software, and creative composition. Includes analysis of form, extended harmonies of the Romantic period, and 20th century and contemporary compositional techniques.
