SOC 220(B) - Race and Ethnicity Credit(s): 3 MassTransfer Block Code: Social Sciences Knowledge of Diversity Code: KOD The relationships among different racial and ethnic groups and the dominant culture in the United States from a socio-historical perspective. Particular attention will be given to such concepts as: dominant minority group relations, racism, discrimination, ethnicity, immigration, assimilation, and pluralism. Some of the groups analyzed are African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Jewish Americans, Asian Americans, and Native Americans.
