ART 131(C) - History of Art: Prehistory-Gothic Credit(s): 3 MassTransfer Block Code: Humanities/Fine and Performing Arts An introductory survey of painting, sculpture, and architecture from prehistory to the dawn of the Italian Renaissance. Emphasis on close looking and visual analysis. Works of art will be examined formally and iconographically, and considered in relation to their historical, social, and cultural contexts. Periods will include Egypt, Mesopotamia, Greece, Rome, and Middle Ages.
