COM 127(C) - Podcasting Credit(s): 3 MassTransfer Block Code: Humanities/Fine and Performing Arts This course immerses students in the art and craft of audio storytelling through podcast production. Students gain extensive hands-on experience recording, editing, and mixing their own podcasts while receiving guided instruction in the use of Adobe Creative Cloud, Audacity, and other audio tools. In addition to production practice, the course explores the historical evolution of audio storytelling (from early radio and broadcast journalism to today’s diverse podcasting landscape) to understand how technology, culture, and creative expression shape the medium. Students will develop writing and vocal performance techniques for audio, analyze influential podcasts for inspiration and craft and complete an original, fully edited project suitable for publication on the College’s HCC PodVault, radio station, or other platforms.
