DFS 210 - Introduction to ASL/English Interpreting

This is an introductory course to the profession of American Sign Language/English interpreting. Topics include the history of interpreting, existing models of simultaneous and consecutive interpreting, an overview of current theories, research, and trends on discourse and text analysis, the Code of Professional Conduct for the interpreting profession, business practices, and the process of becoming a screened/certified interpreter.

Prerequisite(s): ENG 101; ASL 201 with a grade of C of higher
Pre/Corequisite(s): ASL 202
